Delicious Burger

Not only do I love photography, but I also love to grill, cook, and bake. Also, I LOVE food! I love to capture food in its full glory. When I’m taking pictures of food I want to create something that makes your mouth water and makes you want to take a bite.

The Process

I started by making a burger. I wanted to make this burger look like a high-quality burger. I started by making the buns from scratch thanks to Joshua Weissman. I then created a thick juicy burger with cheese, bacon, a tomato slice, and lettuce. I then set up the burger on a little wooden paddle that I got from a craft store and stained myself. This burger was sitting in front of my TV with a fireplace playing on it. I wanted to have the illusion of the burger floating. So I took two pictures, one with the burger and one without. This way I would be able to mask in the background easily. My camera was sitting on a tripod so that I would be able to mask in the background easy as well. As far as my lighting, I set up my softbox on the left-hand side of my camera. I wanted to have just a little shadow on the right side of the burger, nothing too dramatic. Once I had everything looking right I snapped the picture and took it into Adobe Lightroom to do my edits. Once those were done I took the pictures into Adobe Photoshop to make the burger float.
